Question by cheeses: What are good place around San Antonio that are good places for a Boy Scout Troop to travel to for activities?
The places need to have a pool or a river and other open areas to look around.

Best answer:

Answer by Christine
How about climbing to the top of Enchanted Rock, not far from Fredricksburg. Or visiting one of the Ranches out in Bandera. There is also Sea World, Six Flags, Wildlife Ranch or Schlitterbaum water park – voted best in the country. Lastly you can look into a tubing down one of the rivers slightly north of San Antonio. Just make sure that everyone with glasses has then secured with croakies, my husband lost his when he hit a bump!

What do you think? Answer below!

San Antonio Riverwalk #1
A couple of years ago I had the distinct pleasure to travel to San Antonio on business, which I used to advantage by arriving several days early and enjoying the area. My primary intention was to take pictures of the missions, with the Alamo being the most well known, and least interesting of the group.

After arriving at my hotel prepared to work, I found that the hotel was on the San Antonio Riverwalk. This is a narrow canal several miles long that snakes through a portion of the city. During the day it is rather peaceful, but in the evening the cafes on both sides open and the lights come on. This is a stunningly beautiful area, and walking along the river is quite peaceful. More of these images can be seen on my website at GLSmyth.com.
